Speedboat ride
The experience overall was great, the location lovely and the guide and staff were fab. We were picked up at our hotel in a lovely air conditioned van but were taken to a stop and placed onto another vehicle that was already full. It was not as nice as our previous vehicle and there wasn’t really any explaination as to why we were changing to another car as the drivers didn’t speak much English. This was daunting and confusing for us. We then arrived at the beach where we didn’t really know what was happening. As there were hundreds of people there we weren’t sure we were in the right place as we knew there were multiple different types of tours to saona island at different prices and we had opted for the vip one. The “beach club” wasn’t really what we expected and I think you’d be hard pushed to describe it as a beach club by any standard. It was the same as the first stop at blue lagoon, a few wooden sun beds but with the addition of tables and chairs for food. We were inundated at our table with flies and the bar to get drinks was covered with wasps in all the drinks.I would say this was the most disappointing part of the excursion and we didn’t eat our food or have any drinks as it put us off. It was disappointing to us purely as it wasn’t what we were expecting by description. As I said I think the use of the description beach club is very misleading and would lean more towards something that describes the actual surroundings.
