If you choose the option with wine tasting you'll receive three glasses of local wine produced on-site. The option with lunch includes enjoying freshly baked bread with a selection of spreads (Watercress butter, spiced goat's cheese, and the Canarian chorizo called chorizo de Perro), thinly sliced cheese on toasted bread, followed by a shoulder of roast pork cooked in a firewood oven accompanied by sweet vegetables, almond mojo, Canarian potatoes and salad dressed in Monje Macho vinegar. North West Tenerife Hidden Secrets Guided Tour with Transport

It's one pretty village after another on this exclusive tour in the rugged northwest of Tenerife. We'll drop in at a roll call of the island's must-visits. Christian, one of our local experts, says, ‘A guide shows you around the park in Icod de los Vinos and gives you the lowdown on its fascinating dragon tree, which is 20 metres tall.' Santiago del Teide, local speciality tasting and a trip to Teno Rural Park are also part of the line-up.First up is a pit stop in Santiago del Teide, a highland village of whitewashed homes. Then, in Icod de Los Vinos, you'll see up-close its centuries-old dragon tree. You'll also have free time to have a gander around the town. Garachico is next. Devastated by a 1706 volcanic eruption and rebuilt on its lava, it's been dubbed the ‘prettiest and unluckiest' place on the island. Its natural lava pools, guarded by a volcanic rock castle, draw bathers from all over the island. When it's time to take a break, there's a tasty local lunch, served in a family-run restaurant in a traditional finca. The afternoon sees you exploring the craggy peaks of Teno Rural Park. It's famed for its biodiversity but also serves as the larder for most of Tenerife's top-quality natural produce. You'll even get to try some locally made marmalades and jams, all produced with a minimum carbon footprint. Finally, round off the day in the ‘lost hamlet' of Masca. Precariously perched on a ridge overlooking a valley, it's one of Tenerife's most eye-catching spots.

Full Day Tenerife Tour with La Laguna and Lunch

Dusty and lunar-like in the south, green and mountainous in the north, Tenerife packs a continent into one island. Think quaint villages, stunning views and a local lunch on this full day experience. You'll visit the UNESCO-listed old town of La Laguna, drop into a bodega for lunch and explore two plantations. Arianne, one of our local expert guides, says, ‘Canarian bananas are smaller but thicker, and their peel has dark speckles. The pulp is yellower, and it should be eaten riper, which makes it sweeter.'First up is a visit to an aloe vera plantation. Here, you'll learn about the healing qualities – especially skincare – of this crop. Then it's on to La Laguna, arguably the prettiest town on the island. Throw in its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it makes for a real gem of a stop. Wander its poker-straight streets of pastel-coloured palaces and colonial-era churches and convents, or stop for a coffee in one of the cool tree-lined plazas. Taste local products such as marmalade and cheese in the weekly market and admire the town's famous flower displays. It's then on to a family-run bodega for a typical Canarian lunch surrounded by vintage bottles and aged barrels. All ingredients are seasonal and locally sourced to reduce the environmental impact. And it goes without saying that some of the bodega's wines will be served with the food.

But there's more – there's also the remote village of Taganana, viewpoints and one of the most popular beaches in Tenerife.Leaving your hotel in an eight-seater minivan, you'll head to La Laguna, famed for its pastel-coloured palaces and collection of Mudejar-style chapels, churches and convents. A quarter of the town's structures date from the colonial period up to the 18th century. So rich is its architectural heritage that UNESCO listed it in 1999 because of its authenticity. After free time to explore La Laguna at your own pace, why not mingle with locals at the weekly market? From here, you'll head to the crescent-shaped beach of Las Teresitas, complete with palm trees. The scenery changes dramatically next, as we journey through the laurel forest of Las Mercedes en route to Taganana. This whitewashed hamlet cascades down a slope in Anaga Rural Park.
