What to expect

Siam Park is the largest water park in Europe and one of the major in the world. Located in the south of Tenerife, it's one of the main tourist attractions of the Canaries. Siam Park features a Siamese theme and claims to be the most spectacular water attraction in Europe.

Siam Park's construction started in 2004. Originally slated to open in May 2007, the park has endured construction problems, but was finally opened to the public by Her Royal Highness the Princess of Thailand Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on September 17, 2008.

Attractions:

Vulcano: a four-person ProSlide Behemoth Bowl slide with a laser inside that produces a flashing image of a dragon
The Dragon: a ProSlide Tornado with a light show inside the 20-meter (66 ft)-wide funnel
Wave Palace: a wave pool manufactured by Murphys Waves Ltd in Scotland with an artificial white sand beach. At 3.3 meters (11 ft) high, its waves are the highest of any wave pool in the world. The park's surfing school will give surfing lessons at the Wave Palace
Naga Racer: a six-lane racing slide
The Giant: twin ProSlide Cannon Bowls, one moving clockwise and one moving counterclockwise
Tower of Power: a vertical, transparent slide that sends riders through an area with sharks and stingrays
Mai Thai River: the world's longest lazy river, which also has the highest elevation of any lazy river at 8 meters (26 ft)
Jungle Snakes: four twisting slides that follow the park's terrain
Lost City: a children's play structure with 120 games
Mekong Rapids: a river rapids ride
Kinnaree: a new four-person 200-meter (660 ft) long ProSlide
Singha: a waterslide with four funnels, with a speed of 18 meters per second
Saifá: Siam Park's new water ride with steep slopes, racing slides, and surprising twists for a fun and exciting experience

Siam Park offers its own shuttle service included from various stops in Las Americas and Los Cristianos from 09:30h until 17:30 h (intervals of pickups of every hour). This does not need to be reserved, and you just need to wait at the stop with the Siam Park logo

Princess and superhero themed family cruise in Tenerife

Southern Tenerife sightseeing tour with wine-tasting

On this tour, you'll journey through the south and get to know the island's culture and identity. You'll see how aloe vera is grown and learn about its many uses at a plantation, explore the lofty village of Vilaflor de Chasna and sample local wines. Ivan, one of our expert local guides, says “Vilaflor was once called Chasna. But, when a ship captain called Pedro de Bracamonte visited, he spotted a beautiful Guanche girl and shouted Vi la flor de Chasna, which means I've seen the flower of Chasna – after this, the village got its name.”The dry climate and year-round sunshine in the Canaries mean that aloe vera thrives here, even though it is not a native species – it originally came from the Arabian Peninsula. Teide National Park Tour with Expert Local Guide

Tenerife is a medley of picture-postcard villages, high-octane viewpoints and otherworldly landscapes. And nowhere more so than in Teide National Park. On this full day tour, you'll wind your way up the slopes of Mount Teide volcano, where an optional cable car ride can take you to the summit. Juana, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Teide National Park and the surrounding Corona Forestal Nature Reserve together account for one third of Tenerife's land mass – the extent to which the volcano dominates our island is indescribable.'Dramatic volcanic landscapes await as you venture into Teide National Park to see the showstopper itself – the 3,700-metre Mount Teide. As you climb, you'll pass through four different climate zones, which create an ever-changing kaleidoscope of terrains, flora and fauna. And because of its geological importance, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Juana says, ‘The park boasts a variety of camera-grabbing landscapes. There's the scorched earth of the lava fields, the jagged rock formations of Roques de Garcia, the Mars-like badlands around Montaña Rajada and the pine forests of the Corona Forestal.'As an optional extra, you can avail of the cable car service to just below the summit of the volcano. From this altitude, weather permitting, you can enjoy head-spinning views over Tenerife and the rest of the Canary archipelago jutting up from the Atlantic. Alternatively, you might get to see the famous ‘sea of clouds' that often hovers beneath the summit.

Tenerife discovery excursion with local delicacies

Dusty and lunar-like in the south, green and mountainous in the north, Tenerife packs a continent into one island. Think quaint villages, stunning views and a local lunch on this full day experience. You'll visit the UNESCO-listed old town of La Laguna, drop into a bodega for lunch and explore an aloe vera farm as well as finding out about the island's banana-growing heritage. The pulp is yellower, and it should be eaten riper, which makes it sweeter.'First up is a visit to an aloe vera plantation. Throw in its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it makes for a real gem of a stop. Wander its poker-straight streets of pastel-coloured palaces and colonial-era churches and convents, or stop for a coffee in one of the cool tree-lined plazas. Next, you'll head to a family-run bodega for a typical Canarian lunch of seasonal and locally sourced produce to reduce the environmental impact. And it goes without saying that some of the bodega's wines will be served with the food. Your final stop is the Casa del Plátano in Icod de los Vinos. Here you'll find out all about the island's banana-growing heritage and tempt your taste buds when you sample fresh bananas and banana liqueur.
