Napoli è una delle città più antiche d'Italia e conserva i percorsi sotterranei più grandi del mondo. Dalle cisterne greche, agli acquedotti romani, ai rifugi aerei della seconda guerra mondiale. Questa esperienza ti porta attraverso una gemma nascosta. Intraprendi un vero e proprio viaggio archeologico nei sotterranei e segui il percorso del Museo LAPIS.

Inizia da piazza San Gaetano, cammina per le strade, ammira una chiesa gotica e scruta attraverso il suo pavimento di vetro i resti di un antico mosaico precedente. Successivamente, scendi per 40 metri attraverso un campanello in una delle chiese più antiche della città: Santa Maria Maggiore.

La chiesa, edificata su un tempio romano pagano dedicato a Diana, presenta ancora strutture romane. Continua a scendere per vedere le cisterne greche scavate nella dura pietra. Una volta arrivati nel punto più basso del percorso, percorrete i cunicoli per raggiungere le cisterne utilizzate per la raccolta dell'acqua in epoca romana.

Questo sentiero è stato utilizzato anche in epoca medievale come passaggio segreto dai Cavalieri Templari e nel 1943 come ritiro aereo. Molti bagni, cucine e cimeli sono ancora conservati fino ad oggi.

Your journey begins at the Arena of Spartacus, the ancient amphitheater in Capua. Second in size only to Rome's Colosseum, this amphitheater is older, better preserved, and less crowded. Join your guide, a specialist in Roman archaeology, to tour the home of the Gladiator school of Ancient Rome where the legendary gladiator Spartacus made his daring escape and ignited his revolt against Roman slavery.Upon leaving the army, Spartacus was sold into slavery. He was ordered to go to Capua to enroll in Gladiator training school, where he rebelled against his enslavement and managed to escape alongside several other trainee gladiators.
