Thanks for an opportunity to join the safari tour organised by Musement. The distance between our hotel and the desert was quite long (3 hrs) but thanks to our great guide Muhammed Ali and a few stops on the way we enjoyed it very much. The views and experience just amazing! I definitely recommend!!
Your tour will start in the afternoon with a thrilling ride in a 4x4 vehicle. A dune specialist driver will guide you through the renowned Al Qara Mountain (Dhofar Mountains) on Oman's southern side, offering a spectacular view of Salalah city.
The journey continues past Thumrait, a significant point on the ancient caravan routes of the Arabian peninsula. Next, you'll visit Wadi Dawkah, a natural park filled with famous Frankincense trees and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Your next destination is the Lost City of Ubar, another UNESCO World Heritage site often referred to as the Atlantis of the Sand or Wuber.
Following an exploration of this ancient site, you'll head to the Empty Quarter, also known as Rab al Khali. Here, you'll experience one of the world's largest sand deserts, complete with a thrilling drive and sand bashing on fascinating dunes. Keep an eye out for camels roaming the desert. Take pleasure in sandboarding and walking on the sand. As the day draws to a close, watch the sunset over the desert before heading back to Salalah.
